Dar ayed is a rural Hostel located in the berber village of Tamezret, next to the tourist relay of the same name. It is possible to reside in a villa that can accommodate up to eight people, either in one of the two studios or in one of the five double rooms. In addition, the Hostel is also equipped with a dining room that can
around twenty accommodate people and a terrace with a superb view of the desert. The site also includes a sheepfold, a chicken coop and a duck pond, as well as a plantation of olive trees, fig trees and almond trees.
The village of Tamezret is only ten km from the village of Matmata, famous for having served as a backdrop in Star Wars films, and less than an hour’s drive from the oasis Ksar Ghilane. Not far from accommodation, it is possible to visit the Dar-Tamezret museum, which is recognized by its curator, a staunch defender of the Berber heritage. In addition, a coffee and an observation tower are located on the site of the Hostel. Hiking or a ride in a car can be arranged on request. A guide can accompany visitors during their visits to the region.
Dar Ayed employs eight people in the region and contributes to environmental protection in the village and surroundings. The Hostel is equipped with tanks to collect rain water as well as several solar panels and a solar-powered water heater to reduce energy consumption.
