Elinkine Village Lodge
Elinkine, a fishing village on the banks of the Casamance River, stands out for the quality of its welcome and its villagers. During your stay you will live at the tranquil pace of the Casamance River, tour the many little islands of the region, including the unforgettable Bird Island, in a pirogue, or stroll around the village and rice paddies. Other excursions are also available.
Kept up by the villagers, this integrated accommodation is built on a sandy beach, surrounded by coconut trees that line the river and surround the village. Many excursions leaving from this village encampment are available.
This camp, established in 1972, is a pioneer in community tourism as it was the first village camp in Senegal. The objective was to use profits of the community-managed lodge to help them at social, medical and cultural levels. This is how Elinkine built a medical clinic, many classrooms and helped many people having social issues. After closing its doors during the Casamance conflict, the camp reopened in 2008 and since 2013, the Elinkine Economic Interest Grouping is responsible of the management and pursue their initial goal.
The accommodation package includes the half board formula for 2 people.
