Evergreen Ecolodge is located in the village of Sauraha near the famous Chitwan National Park. This unique accommodation is distinctive despite its proximity to hotels related to a more conventional tourism. Evergreen is different by its ecological constructions in mud and recycled glass bottles and its accommodations built from local and reused materials. You can sleep in nests, houses perched above the ground, but also cottages, dormitories and even in a specially designed bus!
Activities are mostly related to the Park. Those proposed by Evergreen Ecolodge differ slightly from the activities proposed locally, since they are, in particular, excluding the exploitation of elephants for monetary purposes. Instead, they offer excursions with a guide in the jungle or river descent in a pirogue. It is also possible to visit a nearby village habited by the Tharu ethnic group, and discover a rich culture and warm locals.
The accommodation staff is 100% Nepalese. Evergreen financed 2 sewing machines for the making of products with rice bags, which allows additional income generation for 2 local families. Evergreen Ecolodge is constantly developing to improve its environmental and social impact in the region. Recent floods (2017) have severely damaged the region.
