Context
Since 2003, Sirenito Macho has been working to protect and conserve sea turtles at Playa Las Peñitas, in the municipality of Marquelia, on Guerrero’s Costa Chica. The center combines conservation, awareness-raising, and responsible tourism to create a lasting impact in the region.
It welcomes both travelers and school groups, offering educational and environmental awareness activities, as well as indigenous tourism experiences. Visitors learn about the life cycle of sea turtles that come to lay their eggs on the beach and understand the importance of preserving this unique ecosystem of the Mexican Pacific.
By supporting Sirenito Macho, donors contribute directly to the protection of sea turtles and the sustainable development of the local community, while helping to preserve the pristine beaches of the Pacific.
