Who Are We ?
Our History
Village Monde is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 by Charles Mony, entrepreneur and explorer, Isabelle Vitte, project manager, and François Duchesneau, lawyer. Village Monde was founded with the aim of encouraging wealth-producing initiatives in remote communities, through the development of micro-economic projects promoting local entrepreneurship.
In 2013, Village Monde took the turn of sustainable community-based tourism and focused all its actions and energies towards the development of rural initiatives in the tourism sector. The aim is thus to create new, sustainable and economically viable sources of economic development to enable these communities improving their living conditions.
In 2015, Village Monde was officially established in Cap-Rouge, Québec and launched its collaborative platform for the commercialization and promotion of sustainable tourism initiatives.
Village Monde is a recognized and registered charitable organisation for tax purposes in Canada.
Mission
Village Monde is a non-governmental organization that promotes the development of a sustainable tourism network in unexplored destinations; for the benefit of local communities and to the delight of the travelers. Village Monde offers to travelers looking for authenticity and sharing, a chance to have a positive impact in those communities on a social, economic and environmental level.
Through its activities and online platform, Village Monde is connecting communities located in remote areas with a large market of travelers, offers a quality label and supports the creation and the enhancement of responsible and sustainable tourism initiatives.
